Rules in every Palo Alto dog park
- Dog parks are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and wear a collar with ID and license tags.
- Leash your dog until it is inside the dog park, and again before you leave.
- Stay inside the fenced area and watch your dogs at all times; remove an aggressive dog at once.
- Pick up after your dog, and closely supervise children.
- No more than three dogs per person. No food or alcohol.
- Where there is a small-dog section, it is for dogs of 25 pounds or less.
- Everywhere else in Palo Alto parks and preserves, dogs must be leashed (Palo Alto Municipal Code 6.16.100), on a leash of 6 feet or less in open space.

Peers Park Dog Park is the newest dog park in Palo Alto constructed in 2018 and is also the largest dog park in the city (0.84 acres). The park features a large open area as well as a long ball retrieval area, along with a separate small dog area and has wood mulch surfacing.
