Rest areas come from the Nevada Department of Transportation; some close temporarily for maintenance. Under state regulation (NAC 408.600), a dog outside the car must be on a leash and stay in the area set aside for animals. Chain hotels marked as brand policy have not yet confirmed their own pet policy, so call ahead. Stops checked through October 30, 2026.
